Intro

Welcome

What are you looking for in a part-time girlfriend?

Maybe you’re looking for someone to help shake off a stressful day, who you can share a pint and a few laughs with before returning to your busy life. Or maybe you’re looking for someone you can share a little more with, like your thoughts on stoicism or what made the holidays particularly difficult this year.

I can be both.

I grew up in Toronto, where for half the year, sunshine must come from within. As a result, I have a sunny disposition that pairs perfectly with my tousled, golden hair. I like to smile and love a good joke, and though I’m not getting a Netflix special any time soon, I may try to get a chuckle out of you. Feel free to lay on your cheesiest (and dirtiest) lines, as I’m quick to laugh and even quicker to – well, more on that later.

When I’m alone, I keep myself smiling by doing the things that I love. I’m a hockey player, and delight in the smell of fresh ice and the feeling of crisp air on my face. It doesn’t hurt that it’s a sport known for building great butts.

I know my height (did I mention I’m 5’9”?) and interest in hockey may sound a bit intimidating, but once the gear is off, you’ll find the opposite. Daily meditation brings me down-to-earth, so I’m laid-back and relaxed – even in Toronto traffic. It’s my hope that this feeling of ease is contagious.

I’m sure hockey and meditation conjure distinctly different imagery, but to me they bring about a similar feeling – a flow state. If you focus your attention on one task, and nothing else, all of life’s stress falls away. Being Cassie often arouses this sensation: when I’m lost in captivating conversation, a delicious dish, or in life’s greatest flow state – la petite mort. This feeling always has me coming back for seconds.

Those who spend more time with me know that I’m eager to discuss life’s bigger questions. I’m a genuinely caring person who’s endlessly fascinated by people and what makes them tick. I also have a history in guiding people through life’s thornier bits, including loss. Though there’s never an expectation that we discuss anything more profound than last night’s game, you’ll find that I always have an open ear and open arms.

We live in a wild time with no shortage of stress, road closures, and could-have-been-an-email meetings. And the Leafs haven’t won since ‘67. But with me, you can take a deep breath, relax, and bask in a bit of sunshine.
